1. Product Overview
The SMU615 is a dedicated Merging Unit developed by ABB for substation applications. It acquires current and voltage signals from measurement transformers, integrates these signals into a standard digital output format, and provides data support for various power system protection devices. As a member of the ABB Relion® product portfolio, the SMU615 features a compact, simplified and withdrawable design, serving as a core component of digital substations.
The SMU615 does not integrate protection functions itself. Instead, it provides physical interfaces for primary switchgear equipment, including circuit breakers, disconnectors and earthing switches, and is fully configured to perform its core merging unit functions.
