    3. Product Features

    • High-Reliability Design: Adopts triple redundant circuits and voting algorithms with single fault tolerance capability, ensuring stable and continuous system operation.
    • Hot-Swap Support: Features a “single-slot hot-repair” design, allowing module replacement without system shutdown to improve maintenance efficiency and system uptime.

    The MSR04XI module consists of the following core components:

    4.1 Main Hardware Components

    • Printed Circuit Board (PCB): A 9U-height main PCB integrated with an integral front panel and front & rear connectors.
    • Daughter Board: A pluggable daughter board that carries all RS232 interface circuits to realize serial communication functions.
    • Connectors:

      Mechanical Coding Blocks: Two coding blocks with positioning pins, precisely matched with the corresponding rack holes for anti-misinstallation protection.

      • J1 Backplane Connector: Used for electrical connection between the module and the equipment chassis
      • J2 Field Connector: Used for connecting on-site industrial devices

    4.2 Configuration Links (9 in Total)

    • LK1: 3 sets of 3-pin links, located approximately 80mm from the top of the module; non-user-configurable.
    • LK2: 3 sets of 8-pin links, located approximately 210mm from the top of the module; dedicated for module ID configuration and must be installed all the time.
    • LK3: Used for operating mode configuration of the module.
    • LK4: Used for setting the clock speed of the daughter board.

    4.3 Data Transmission Path

    The module realizes isolation from the MPP through bus transceivers. Data is transmitted to the USART after passing through three groups of dual-port RAM and 2-out-of-3 voting processing to ensure data transmission accuracy and stability.

    4.4 Power Supply System

    Power is supplied by the dual redundant SC300E power supply unit. The optical isolators and interface circuits of communication ports are equipped with independent power supply modules to avoid mutual interference and improve operational stability.

    6. Installation Instructions

    6.1 Installation Position Requirements

    At least one MSR04XI serial communication module shall be deployed in the system, and it must be installed in Slot 10 of the main equipment rack to ensure normal system communication functions.

    6.2 Installation Steps

    1. Verify that the mechanical coding blocks of the module are completely matched with the rack positioning holes.
    2. Vertically insert the module into the specified slot along the rack guide rails steadily.
    3. Ensure the module is fully seated and reliably connected to the J1 backplane connector.
    4. Connect the J2 field connector to the matched RS232 on-site equipment.

    6.3 Wiring Requirements

    • Use shielded twisted-pair cables for all RS232 device connection wiring to reduce electromagnetic interference.
    • Ensure reliable and complete grounding of the module and equipment to suppress external signal interference.
    • Check all wiring connections carefully to ensure firm and stable connection without looseness or virtual connection.
