The XVME‑630 is a low-cost VMEbus-compatible single-board computer launched by Xycom (now a subsidiary of Acromag). It is powered by a 25 MHz 68EC030 (68030-compatible) processor as its core. Installation and Maintenance Guidelines

- Storage Configuration: Insert an appropriate combination of EPROM/Flash (for firmware) and SRAM (for runtime data) into the 12 sites according to system requirements, and correctly map the addresses in the BIOS/boot code.
- Clock Maintenance: The battery for the battery-backed real-time clock needs to be replaced every 2-3 years to ensure the reliability of timestamp and timing functions.
- Firmware Upgrade: Download new firmware via VMEbus or serial port. Be sure to back up the existing image before upgrading to prevent system unbootability due to upgrade failure.
