3. Product Features
- Excellent Protection Performance: It can significantly reduce voltage spike value and du/dt value at motor terminals, preventing damage to the motor insulation system.
- Cooling Method: Adopts natural convection cooling mode.
- Heat Dissipation Property: The surface operating temperature can exceed 150°C. Sufficient heat dissipation space shall be reserved during installation.
- Dedicated Design: Developed for ABB drive systems, compatible with IGBT power supply units and dynamic braking units.
- Reliable Connection Performance: Shielded cables must be used for connection between shells, and reliable grounding is required to guarantee electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
- Cost-effective: Lower procurement cost than sine wave filters, while providing effective protection for motor insulation.
4. Structure & Composition
4.1 Mechanical Structure Components
- Inductor Coil: The core component of the filter, used to suppress the rate of voltage change.
- Copper Busbar: Internal conductive connecting component.
- Internal Circuit Structure: Equipped with filtering circuits and matching components (See internal circuit diagram in the official ABB technical manual for details).
4.2 Installation Structural Characteristics
- Lifting Holes: Reserved on the top for hoisting and transportation.
- Fixing Holes: Arranged at the bottom, fixed on the mounting surface via 4 bolts.
- Grounding Device: Connected to protective earth (PE) terminal through the mounting bracket.

- Special cable application: Applicable for special cables that generate extra operating temperature rise.
- Industrial electric drive systems: Widely applied in industrial automation, pump & fan control, conveyor systems and other industrial scenarios requiring motor insulation protection.
