Overview
The XYCOM XVME‑290 is a VMEbus-compliant digital I/O module that delivers high-speed parallel input/output functionality with 32 independent channels, ideal for industrial automation, process control, and other related scenarios. Available in single-height single-width (1U) or double-height (2U) form factors, the module can be directly inserted into a standard VME‑PI backplane and is compatible with all mainstream VME systems.

Installation and Maintenance
System Requirements
Ensure the backplane is of VME‑PI type and the power supply meets or exceeds +5 V and 1.5 A.
Jumper Configuration
Set the corresponding jumpers (Base Address, Address Modifier, Interrupt Level, etc.) according to the system’s requirements for base address, address modifier, and interrupt level.
Insertion Method
- Single-height modules can be directly inserted into the P2 backplane.
- Double-height modules use JK1 and JK2 connectors to correspond to PI/T #1 and PI/T #2 respectively.
Fixing and Wiring
Secure the module with screws or buckles, and check that all connector pins are free of loosening or short circuits.
Hot-Swapping
Hot-swapping is supported, but it is recommended to perform the operation when the system is shut down or under low-load conditions to prevent instantaneous current surges.
Regular Inspection
Conduct visual inspections and electrical tests every 6 months to verify jumper positions, heat sink integrity, and power supply stability.
