The XYCOM XVME-957 is an industrial-grade high-capacity storage subsystem based on the VMEbus. It is specifically designed to provide hard disk and floppy disk storage for VMEbus PC/AT processor modules such as the XVME-655 and XVME-675. Featuring a double-height slot design, the product occupies only one VME slot and can be directly inserted into a standard VME backplane. It is compatible with operating systems including Windows NT, QNX, and VxWorks.

Installation

Configuration
- After starting the system, install the corresponding driver in the operating system (such as Windows NT, QNX). The driver is usually available on the CD provided with the product or via a download link.
- Confirm hard disk recognition in the BIOS/system settings, and perform partitioning and formatting if necessary.
Daily Maintenance
- Regularly check the power supply and heat dissipation devices to ensure the fan operates normally and prevent overheating.
- Monitor the hard disk health status (SMART) and back up data properly to prevent data loss due to hard disk failure.
- Clean the dust inside the chassis to maintain good ventilation.
Troubleshooting
- If the system fails to recognize the hard disk, first check whether the VMEbus connection is secure, then confirm that the power supply is normal.
- For floppy disk drive failures, replace the floppy disk or check the read/write head of the floppy disk drive.
- In case of frequent power failures or error codes, it is recommended to contact the original factory technical support, and provide the product serial number and fault log for remote diagnosis.
