    Installation and Maintenance Points

     

    Pre-Installation Inspection

    3. Confirm that the VME‑bus backplane corresponds correctly to the slots of other modules.

     

    Module Plugging and Unplugging

     

    1. Wear anti-static gloves to avoid electrostatic damage to the chips.
    2. Align the buckles when inserting, and press gently until it is in place; when pulling out, first cut off the power and pull the buckles gently.

     

    Wiring and Grounding

     

    1. Use shielded twisted-pair cables for communication cables such as CAN and Ethernet to maintain good grounding.
    2. High-speed signal lines should be as short as possible to avoid crossing with high-current lines.

     

    Initial Commissioning

     

    1. After power-on, check the indicator lights to confirm the status of the power supply, bus, and storage.
    2. Use VME‑bus diagnostic software to read the module ID and firmware version, ensuring compatibility with the system.

     

    Daily Maintenance

     

    1. Regularly check the heat sinks and fans (if equipped) to maintain ventilation.
    2. Conduct a health check (SMART check) on the storage media every 6 months.
    3. Monitor the CAN bus error count and replace faulty communication cards in a timely manner.

     

    Troubleshooting

     

    • Power Abnormality: Check the input voltage, fuses, and internal voltage stabilization modules.
    • Bus Communication Failure: Confirm that there is no oxidation on the VME‑bus slots and the golden fingers of the card slots; re-plug the module if necessary.
    • Storage Read/Write Errors: Replace the hard disk or floppy disk drive, and check the IDE interface connections.
