GE EVEREST XLG3
The Everest XLG3 is the third – generation handheld industrial video borescope system launched by GE Inspection Technologies. It is specifically designed for Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) in narrow, dark, and harsh environments.
This system integrates a high – resolution color LCD display, a replaceable titanium alloy camera probe, double illumination output, and an optional UPS battery. It can provide clear real – time images within a range of 2 m – 9.6 m (with optional different diameters). Its modular and portable structure allows for easy transportation to any inspection site and safe operation in confined spaces.
Key Parameters (Core Technical Specifications)
- Operating Power Supply: 100 – 240 V AC / 50 – 60 Hz (or 11 – 16 V DC power supply). The maximum power is approximately 300 W, and the regular power consumption is about 150 W.
- UPS Battery: Optional 1 – hour or 2 – hour battery life, supporting continuous operation when there is no external power supply on – site.
- Display Screen: A wide – viewing – angle VGA color LCD with a shock – proof structure to adapt to sudden movements.
- Probe Diameter: Multiple specifications such as 6 mm, 5 mm, and 8.4 mm, enabling quick replacement (QuickChange™).
- Probe Length: 2 m – 9.6 m (optional). The longest 9.6 m probe uses an 8 mm diameter pipeline.
- Illumination: Double light output with high – brightness HID/LED light sources, enhancing visibility in large spaces.
- Waterproof/Dustproof: The probe can withstand a water pressure of 1 bar (approximately 10 m water depth), and its protection level meets the requirements of industrial sites.
- Operating Temperature: -20 °C ~ +46 °C (for the chassis) and -25 °C ~ +80 °C (for the probe).
- Dimensions and Weight: The standard chassis measures 54.6 × 49.5 × 32.0 cm. The total weight of the complete set (including the chassis) is approximately 21.8 kg, and it is about 10.9 kg without the chassis.

- Extreme Portability: Equipped with a full – aluminum chassis, a polycarbonate shell, and built – in rubber shock absorbers, it is easy for a single person to carry and quickly deploy on – site.
- High – Strength Probe: The titanium alloy camera shell has 8 times higher strength. It is equipped with laser – welded gooseneck joints and double – layer tungsten wire braided protective tubes, providing resistance to pressure and wear.
- Double Illumination: The light output is twice that of the previous generation, significantly improving visibility in dark areas of large spaces.
- Modular Probe System: The QuickChange™ technology enables quick switching of probe diameter, length, and function to meet various inspection needs.
- Long – Term Power Supply: The optional UPS battery provides 1 – 2 hours of continuous operation, suitable for long – term inspections in confined spaces.
- Shock – Proof Display: The color LCD has a shock – proof structure, which can maintain image stability in environments with sudden impacts or vibrations.
- Multi – Environment Adaptability: With a wide operating temperature range, resistance to water pressure and impact, it is suitable for on – site inspections in industries such as electric power, aerospace, petrochemical, automotive, and manufacturing.

Installation and Maintenance Points
On – Site Deployment
- Place the main unit in a stable and well – ventilated location to ensure that the heat dissipation holes are not blocked.
- If it needs to be used in a narrow space, the side cover of the chassis can be removed, and the unit can be moved using the handles or wheels.
- After connecting the UPS battery or external power supply, check whether the power indicator light is normal.
Probe Assembly
- Use the QuickChange™ interface to quickly snap the probe of the required diameter and length into the storage reel.
- Ensure that the light source at the end of the probe is aligned with the camera to prevent dust from entering the optical system.
Daily Inspection
- Before each use, check whether the LCD screen, buttons, and joystick are flexible. If used in an environment below 0 °C, the LCD needs to be preheated.
- Check whether the probe shell has scratches and whether the welding points are loose. The waterproof joints should be kept dry.
- When the battery power is lower than 20%, replace or charge the battery in a timely manner to avoid power failure during key inspections.
Maintenance
- Regularly clean the LCD and shell with a soft dry cloth, and avoid using corrosive cleaning agents.
- Use special optical cleaning paper or an air blower to remove dust from the optical components of the probe.
- Conduct a full – machine calibration every 6 months to check the light source intensity, camera focus, and image noise level.
- If abnormal internal electronic components or aging shock – proof rubber are found, contact an authorized service center to replace the parts.
Safety Precautions
- When working in high – temperature or high – pressure environments, be sure to wear protective gloves and goggles.
- Before the probe enters underwater or humid environments, confirm that the waterproof level meets the on – site requirements (≥1 bar).
- If abnormal noise or vibration occurs during use, stop the operation immediately and check the mechanical connections.
