1. Overview
HIMA B5322 is part of HIMA’s B-Series safety controllers, mainly applied in the field of safety control in process automation. It is usually used in conjunction with I/O modules (such as HIMA 8111/8112) to form a complete safety system. The controller is designed to monitor and control key process parameters to ensure the safety and reliability of industrial production processes.
2. Key Parameters
- Safety Level: Complies with IEC 61511 standard, with SIL 3/4 certification capability.
- Redundant Structure: Adopts triple-redundant technology or similar architecture to maintain safety functions even in the case of Single Point of Failure (SPOF).
- Communication Interfaces: Supports multiple industrial network protocols, such as PROFIBUS DP, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, etc., to facilitate integration with other automation equipment or control systems.

- Power Supply Module: Provides power for the controller and I/O modules.
- I/O Subrack: Although I/O modules are usually independent modules (such as HIMA 8111/8112), the B5322, as the main controller, is responsible for managing and monitoring these I/O modules.

- Petrochemical Industry: Used to monitor and protect key equipment such as reactors and heat exchangers in chemical production processes.
- Rail Transit: Used for safety monitoring of train control systems to ensure the safety of train operation.

6. Installation and Maintenance
Installation
HIMA B5322 adopts the standard 35mm DIN rail mounting method, which needs to be installed horizontally and kept ventilated to ensure heat dissipation. Attention should be paid to the connection sequence with I/O modules during installation, which is usually configured by system integrators.
Maintenance
Equipped with real-time diagnostic functions, maintenance personnel can perform self-inspection on the system through HIMA’s engineering software (such as HIMA Software). The modular design allows replacing faulty modules without affecting the operation of the overall system.
