GE PT878
The PT878 is a portable ultrasonic flowmeter in the GE Panametrics series. It adopts clamp-on transit-time technology, enabling the measurement of liquid velocity, volumetric flow, and energy flow without cutting the pipeline. With a compact size and lightweight design (approximately 1.36 kg), it features a built-in rechargeable battery and a backlit LCD. It also supports a multilingual interface, allowing for quick on-site measurements and the recording of up to tens of thousands of data points.

Installation and Maintenance Guidelines
- On-Site Preparation: Confirm the pipe material, diameter, wall thickness, and medium temperature range; prepare appropriate clamps and coupling agents.
- Transducer Installation: Align the transducers with the outer wall of the pipe, ensure good coupling (using coupling agents or rubber pads), and adjust the spacing to the value recommended in the transducer manual.
- Parameter Setting: Enter the pipe diameter, wall thickness, and medium sound velocity (manually or using built-in sound velocity calibration) in the meter menu, and select the measurement unit.
- Calibration and Verification: If on-site calibration is required, use a reference metering device with known flow for comparative correction; record the calibration coefficient.
- Data Management: Regularly export logs to a PC via USB, and use Panaview software for trend analysis or report generation.
- Battery and Power Supply: Check the battery level before each use; when not in use for a long time, store the battery at a temperature below 20 °C and avoid storing it at temperatures above 35 °C for more than one month.
- Cleaning and Inspection: Keep the transducer surface clean, regularly check if the clamp bolts and coupling agents are aged; if abnormal noise or drift is detected, recalibrate or replace the transducers.
